Whenever someone asks what I do to maintain my physique, I always respond with the same answer.

“It’s not what I do. It’s what I don’t do.”

This tends to surprise most people, because they typically expect me to list out what my workouts look like or what foods I eat.

But here’s what I’ve learned after 17+ years in fitness, and coaching other men for over 16 of those years…

What we do shapes us.

What we don’t do makes us.

Let me explain…

The proper training, nutrition, and recovery protocols have the potential to change your physique.

But only if you’re prepared to give up what’s holding you back.

Things like self-negotiation, self-sabotage, and chronic excuse-making will undo even the best, most mathematically perfect program.

And after coaching hundreds of high-performing men, I’ve seen this unfold time and time again.

There’s a moment in every client’s journey where what I call “the switch” takes place.

When he realizes that the workouts, the nutrition, and the recovery protocols are actually secondary to his internal belief system.

And once “the switch” takes place, there’s no going back.

You stop negotiating with yourself.

You stop sabotaging your results.

You stop making childish excuses.

And you become the version of yourself that is required to achieve and maintain the physique.

What you do shapes you.

What you don’t do makes you.
